This green art project is a revealing look at places
most will never see, from simple gardens to hot tubs, swimming pools,
cabanas, elaborate follies, vegetable gardens, bee hives, living walls
and even movie theaters. Not that unusual you say? Starting to yawn?
Imagine all of these elements sprinkled across the rooftops of a city
like Manhattan. For those lucky enough to own, rent or have access to
the rooftops of New York City, the choices they are making for their
outdoor living spaces have come a long way from the tar beaches of a few
decades ago. And while once just a place to relax and enjoy the view
away from the scurrying crowds below, today many are choosing to be part
of a sustainable future as more 'green' meadows are gracing both private
and public rooftops around the city.
